This amazing colonial House is in the desirable Santiago neighborhood of downtown historic Merida. The hotel became the very first Bed & Breakfast style lodging in Merida. There were a few guesthouses, but not the B&B concept. Twenty years into the project, we left the B&B idea, to become “a small hotel”, which we remain today.

El edificio fue diseñado y construido por Vicente Solís, quien nació en 1838 y fue el dueño de la legendaria Hacienda Xcanchakan cerca de las ruinas de Mayapán.
El Hotel contiene mobiliario apropiado para su epoca. Contiene una piscina estilo cenote.
Posee cinco (5) azoteas de diferentes tamaños las cuales se encuentran amuebladas, una de ellas techada con tejas de terracota.
Tiene licencia como HOTEL, RESTAURANTE Y BAR con licencias vigentes, permitiendo la venta de licores entre las 5 pm y las 3 am, los 7 días de la semana.

The Hotel adapted a city-center historic building, the 19th century home of one of Yucatan’s henequen barons, beginning in 1983.
It functioned uninterrupted for thirty-five years as a small hotel. Until March of the year 2020, accommodations could be booked online.
The building includes twenty-two (22) spaces and five (5) service spaces, (2) kitchens and (2) efficiency kitchens, 1 pool, 1 small garage.
Seven (7) rooms (with baths) are functional today. Three (3) rooms with baths have served as guest rooms in the past. All have served and been part of the Merida hotel scene since the mid 1980s.
The building was designed and built by Vicente Solis, who was born in 1838 and was the owner of the legendary Hacienda
Xcanchakan near the ruins of Mayapan.
The Hotel contains furnishings and details appropriate to the times of its heyday. It contains a cenote-style pool. It has five (5) rooftop terraces of varying sizes which are furnished, one of them roofed with terracotta tiles.
Furthermore, it is licensed as a HOTEL, RESTAURANT & BAR with licenses valid and in force now, permitting liquor sales between 5 pm to 3 am, 7 days per week.
(It is sold with furnishings, equipment, and materials necessary to furnish and operate a small hotel with restaurant and bar.
Inherited family furnishings are not included.
About the area
The Plaza of Santiago is a meeting place -- for taxis and city buses, supermarket, pharmacy, 24 hr convenience store, vegetable, fruit, and flower markets -- and typical food stalls abound. There's also a cobbler, first-run movie theater, barber, Chinese restaurant, paint, and hardware stores. And benches in a well-tended park for passing idle hours and waiting for romance.
